You may not know it, but books are now available in the virtual universe. Publishers and bookstores are presently growing to meet the demands of bibliophiles online.

Tomorrow evening from 5-8pm PST, the [ThirdLife Bookstore will hold their grand opening](http://www.michaelastackpole.com/?p=143) in Second Life.

While exploring the possibilities of bringing [*Video Game Play and Addiction*](http://www.amazon.com/Video-Game-PLAY-AND-ADDICTION/dp/0595454704) into Second Life, I had the pleasure of meeting with the very nice and informative owners of ThirdLife Books, Michael Stackpole (SL: Noble Charron) and Kat Alderson.

[Michael is also a New York Times best selling novelist](http://www.michaelastackpole.com/?page_id=2) with several awards, to boot.

Events are listed as follows:

5pm - 8pm: The Spirit Dazzlers, tours, and chat!

5pm: Michael A. Stackpole Presents: A Class for Writers - Plotting Techniques

6pm: Meet and greet with Kat Alderson

6:15pm: The Original Comedy of Jwheels Carver

7pm: New York Times Bestselling author Michael A. Stackpole reads his fantasy short story, Wildest Dreams.

8pm: A very special fireworks display!

There are numerous books available in-world so if you're at all curious about reading a book in a virtual world do check it out: [Teleport to Third Life books](http://slurl.com/secondlife/Beraudes/143/133/55). You'll get to meet an award winning author, visit the grand opening of a virtual book store, and peruse a book or two.
