There’s a notion that nothing counts until there’s a product to show for it.
Matt Strieby’s work suggests otherwise.
Matt has spent twenty-one years turning my ideas into things you can hold: album covers like the one for Ontogeny (below), book covers, the look of Waves of Focus.
His process begins long before anything is drawn, with reflection, then a sandbox, then a slow gathering of structure that, done well, doesn’t drain the life out of the thing being made.
Join me and Matt as we talk about play, deadlines, and learning to listen to the work as it unfolds.
Matt’s design work is at newleafdesign.com.
