The Omni Group has been hard at work getting the iOS version of OmniFocus 4 up and running. I have been beta testing for a a while now, and I can say that I am quite excited by the direction.

I am only working from the iPhone, but I’m certain that the iPad features are just as neat. And while there may be some things already enjoyed by the iPad, having them on the iPhone will be a treat.

They are aiming at a sleeker interface that still retains the powerful functionality. Any task has a small icon that can give you access to any of the features like repeat, defer and due dates, etc.

Customization is, of course, ready and available.

OmniFocus 4 handles Perspectives differently than OF3 using a simple menu button. There is also a Focus functionality that I am happy to see, as previously I would only have that on the laptop.

Review is also nicer. For example, I can now readily see the frequency of review and when it was last reviewed quite easily.

Numerous other touches are there. Take a look at the announcement at the Omni Blog.

And of course, if you’re interested – sign up for the beta test here.
