David Sparks and I had a wonderful conversation about idea management and the tools that are blossoming in the mac ecosystem. It was a fun talk, and I am so grateful that David was willing to join me in creating this recording.
This was the first time I ever interviewed someone for a recorded podcast-like event. I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
In the future it would be nice if you could include a direct link to the .mp3, so folks don’t have to dig around in the page source to get the file.
This seems to be the link: MP3
I enjoyed this thoroughly. Count me in as someone who relies on people like you and David to spend the hours playing around with the apps to filter for us (and the audio format is ideal for me to get your thoughts).
I enjoyed this immensely. It was nice to listen to a Mac Power Users chat in an ‘unplugged’ style. Reminded me a lot of what made podcasting great in the first place. Right in my wheelhouse of interest as well, as someone who suffers constant FOMO of the next great note taking app! I’d also be interested to know if you’ve gone down the Workflowy/Dynalist outlining rabbit hole.
I’m glad you’re enjoying the audio – I’ll try to set up easier link for downloading files next time too!
Good insightful look at the many productivity apps. For a while now, I’ve been wondering which app to get fully into, or as David often says “Going down the rabbit hole” I’ve come to a final conclusion and shall try and stick with it…..Thankyou Kourosh and David, for 42 minutes of calm thoughtful discussion on this topic
Hey Chris – I’m curious what app you’re going with?
Drafts is my chosen app. Why: Because it seems super intuitive to work with, and simply sits on my Mac waiting to be used. I’ve looked at some of the others, and the learning curve for me is intimidating.
Also would be interested to hear your thoughts on the new Brain 12 (in public beta now) which is major upgrade with back-linking, mentions, etc. but also preserves the ability to keep your graph/brain view clean.
I’ve played around with the Brain years ago, but it never quite got a hold of me. I may give it another run, especially if back-linking and such are involved. Thanks for the heads up about it!
Really enjoyed this, and would be open to listening to more 🙂
Great to know – glad you liked it!
Enjoyed it a lot, thank you, would clearly listen to more. You resisted the temptation to add endless banter, that messes up so many podcasts. Nearly every sentence was a gem in some way, and well worth my time.
Much appreciated! I’ll keep future podcast type things in mind
I hope you keep this up!
